7th/8th Grade Band
The West Clermont Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Bands
The West Clermont Middle School band staff believes music helps provide a balanced curriculum and is a fundamental part of student growth and development as individuals. It is our philosophy that all children should have the opportunity to learn music. Being a part of the West Clermont band program not only provides students with valuable educational experiences and outlets for creativity, but also teaches valuable life lessons. Students involved in music ensembles learn life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, time-management, and flexibility. It is our goal to educate every student to the fullest extent in skill development, cognitive understanding, and aesthetic appreciation for all forms of music. Students are encouraged to have a good work ethic, show consistent progress, and develop personal goals while achieving new skills.
The West Clermont Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Bands meet daily during the school day and consist of approximately 300 students. Each band meets for 40 minutes every day and counts as a full year Encore class. WCMS band students perform three concerts throughout the year and have the opportunity to participate in OMEA district events such as Honor Bands and Junior High Solo and Ensemble.
Charms
Charms is the West Clermont Band’s online music office manager that is used to help facilitate better communication. Once registered, families can view student data, calendars, finances, and volunteer opportunities. You will periodically receive emails that include the important information we are sending home so you don’t have to solely count on important papers and information to come home in backpacks.
