West Clermont 6th Grade Beginning Band
Students can join the West Clermont Bands in 6th grade as a beginning band student at West Clermont Middle School where they will learn the basic fundamentals of playing an instrument and reading music. No previous instrumental experience is required. Students will start from the very beginning of learning an instrument in this class. Beginning band meets daily during the school day as an elective class (flute class, clarinet class, trumpet class, or trombone class).
In the spring of 5th grade, the WCHS band will perform an assembly concert for all 5th grade students demonstrating the instruments in the band. Following the elementary band assemblies, students will be provided information about the 6th grade instrument options. The following week, students interested in playing an instrument will then meet one-on-one with a band director during the school day to select an instrument for 6th grade band.
