West Clermont High School Director of Bands

Brian Fischer - fischer_b@my.westcler.org
Mr. Fischer was raised in Milford, Ohio, where he attended Milford High School. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Music Education from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and a Master's Degree in Band Conducting from The American Band College. Throughout high school and college, Mr. Fischer spent five summers touring with drum and bugle corps. He toured with Southwind, the Boston Crusaders, and the seven-time world champion Cavaliers from Rosemont, Illinois. Mr. Fischer joined the West Clermont team in 2016, assisting with both the Amelia and Glen Este Band Programs. In 2017, he assumed the role of Director of Bands at West Clermont High School.

Prior to teaching at West Clermont, Mr. Fischer spent nine years as Director of Bands at La Salle High School. During his time at La Salle, Mr. Fischer built a highly-recognized program in both concert and marching band. Mr. Fischer's concert ensembles consistently earned Superior ratings at OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Events, and the marching band has been named Class Champions at both MSBA and BOA Regionals at numerous events. The Pride of La Salle Marching Band was also named a BOA Grand National Semi-Finalist under the direction of Mr. Fischer.

Ryan Reed - rreedpercussion@gmail.com
Ryan Reed is a percussion educator and designer currently in the Cincinnati, OH, area. He is the percussion director for West Clermont High School. Ryan is a front ensemble instructor for Matrix Performing Arts. He is also an instructor with Phantom Regiment and the front ensemble arranger, and instructor, with Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps. Previously, Ryan served as the front ensemble arranger for the Skyliners (2016-17), Sunrisers (2018) and White Sabers (2019-21). He has also served as a front ensemble instructor for the Empire Statesmen (2009), Glassmen (2012) and front ensemble instructor/coordinator
for Capital City Percussion (2013-15).

 

Ryan received a B.M. in Music Education from Kent State University where he studied percussion with Ted Rounds. As a performer in the
marching arts, Ryan was a front ensemble member of Matrix Percussion from 2006-2008, taking part in the ensembles European tour in 2008.
He was also a member of the Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007 and 2009, and the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008. In
2016, Ryan performed with Matrix International for the 2016 Chaiayi City International Band Festival in Chiayi City, Taiwan.

 

In addition to teaching, Ryan is a designer for marching bands and indoor drumlines around the country. Ryan is also an endorser for Innovative Percussion and Mapex/Majestic Percussion.

Zach Poller - WCMB Assistant Director of Visual - poller_z@my.westcler.org

Zach Poller joined the West Clermont band program in 2019 as the Visual Director. He holds a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Ohio University. During the school year, Mr. Poller is a band director at West Clermont Middle School.

Zach is also a member of the United States Army and serves as a Bandsman with the 100th Army Band out of Fort Knox, Kentucky. He likes to go to the gym, play sand volleyball, and enjoys exploring local food places in Cincinnati.

 


Lydia Myers - WCMB Assistant Director of Woodwinds - myers_ly@my.westcler.org
Lydia Myers joined the West Clermont Marching Band Staff in 2021, and currently teaches General Music at Withamsville-Tobasco and Merwin Elementary Schools.
Originally from Fairfield, Ohio, Mrs. Myers holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Miami University where she was a member of Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Sigma Alpha Iota, and the Ohio Music Education Association Collegiate Chapter. She has worked with the WCMB for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, and has assisted Symphonic 1 after school and on their first appearance at the OMEA conference. Mrs. Myers is excited to continue in the growth of the WC band program and work with the awesome students and staff at the high school.
In addition to teaching, Mrs. Myers continues to actively perform on clarinet as a member of the Cincinnati Wind Band. Mrs. Myers currently lives in Anderson with her husband and fellow music teacher, Grayson, and her cat, Clio.

Lexi Adkins - WCMB Assistant Director of Color Guard

Miss Lexi is excited to start teaching at West Clermont. She is 23 and color guard has been a big part of her life for as long as she can remember. She marched with the Oregon Crusaders, a DCI World Class drum corps, and has taught at a few schools. Fun facts about Miss Lexi: When she's not teaching, she's a hairstylist. She loves spending time with her family and friends along with traveling and outdoor activities. She can’t wait for this upcoming season and no regrets!
